Akihabara day 3

Toyko Time: 5:00pm

My day had started out like the past few days, waking up early in the morning checking for comments in my blog.

I have also signed up for the free English tour of Akihabara for Saturday the 27th of Oct so I am looking forward to that.

Then I headed for Shinjuku for a favor for a friend to look for some items in the Subnade mall at the Shinjuku station. I had found the mall alright took a bit of time but I found it, after three attempts, I am not sure if I found the shop though I did see mostly hip clothing for girls and a shojo managa store,
There was a huge dollar looking store but I was hard to tell what it was, it was just off to the side of Subnade2 but I didn't see any kitchen towels for 100yen I thought to try again another day, maybe on Monday.

A side note the station at takanobaba chimes the Astro boys intro song, next time I get a chance I will recored it.

I had left the station and was stopped but people collecting donations for a tragic something that happened. I had dropped in some money and the invited me to an event Sunday night, with music and dancing and food, the fee to get in is 1500 yen, every time that asked if I was going "ok" they would make the sign for money, It least that is what I took it for. that was the second time was invited to that event and the third time I was asked to make a donation. They where trying to entice me buy saying the singer was cute. I told them that I don't know if I could make it.

After that I then headed for the Radio Kaikan in Akihabara again, this time I went through the Kotobukiya shop,(who make the Playarts figures) on the first floor and wandered around and noticed that they have a lot of NBX(Nightmare before Christmas)stuff out now and a case of Ghibli stuff too, I tried to find a Halloween town Sora,(from Kingdom hearts) since I think that is his best costume but no luck. now spent a few hours there and saw some good deals on figures, I saw some Dominion Tank Police figures for about 12,000yen a piece (they are much like the Hasuki doll I have, plus they are 20% off), I had walked all around of the building on all 7 floors, there was a display that was out side of the shop I wanted to take picture of it but I continued around, then do you thing that I could find it again.

I had found the yellow submarine and looked high and low for the Genshiken capsule figures, not to found as a complete set anyway. Then I headed over to Softmap for some more DS games and then headed over to Azobit city again, picked up one figure.
And then I decided to try walking home, it was easier than I though, I just went up to the to the Ueno Staion, past the Ueno Zoo and then took a detour across th train tracks(it was the only way Could go with out walking all over the road) and I made it to the house in about 15 to 20 mins, so now that I know the way I can save the 130yen for the train to Akihabara and get more exercise.

I am going to cool it a bit with the spending for a few days ad just spend a lot of time in Akihabara tomorrow looking at the sight and sounds of the preforming maids

Sounds pretty dang nice over there =D You've definately found some cool figures. I take it theres a ton to look through? :)

I look forward to seeing more pictures. I'd especially love to see some of you wandering around town. It would be cool to see what store fronts and the crowds in Akihabara look like.

I recognize Pheonix Wright 4 and a Bome figure in your stash -- and is that a new Haruhi figure or the same one from a few days ago? I'm not surprised the Genshiken figures are so hard to find -- it's got a really devoted fan base, and that little set was an inspired marketing idea.

It's probably a good plan to apply the brakes a bit to your shopping -- trains, food, electricity etc will all mount up pretty quickly. Once you've cased out the shops, you'll know when you see something really rare -- something you don't want to pass up -- as opposed to something that you'll probably be able to pick up later on. Remember to compare prices at Nakano! :) In the meantime, try doing some free things to get your bearings in Tokyo.

When you wake up it will be Sunday, so you're probably planning on hitting Harajuku and checking out Takeshita-dori. That's fun, and will make for a lot of great pictures -- and it's free! Try to visit nearby Yoyogi Park and the Sensoji Temple for some peace and quiet. It's really something.

And maybe today will be... Ramen Day!! :) Or maybe more likely, Maid Cafe Day. :/

it's a new one, the other one is a smaller.
I was planning on hitting Harajuku next Sunday and Akiba today.

The unfortunate thing about PW4 is that it's not in English or has no English option like no#3

The other items are:
the girl with the red jacket is Dokuro-chan from Club to Death Angel Dokuro-chan.

The small girl in the purple outfit is Shinobu from 2x2=Shinobuden

the other DS title is called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! it was imported to Canada(and the us) as Elite Beat Agents...I thought that the idea in the Japaneses version was better suited to the situations then the us version(Ouendan are like cheerleaders in a way that they dance and cheer in a specific area) during a game and they have specific uniforms. The idea of the game is a person has a problem (eg a student is having trouble studying for a test, so he calls for help and a group of Ouendan cheer him on, and if you are successful at doing this, the student can now study for a test)

In the us version it is kind of like a MIB origination, where some one is in a desperate situation and calls for help the agents answer that call and dance to solve there problems, (eg a taxi driver has been pulled over for speeding and was left off with a warning, next thing he knows a woman in labour gets in his cab and tells him to step on it to the hospital, during this you need keep your "heath" bar above a point in order to get the woman to the hospital with out getting caught speeding by the police.)
